Basics

Character Name: Carmina Mora ("The Artist)
Character Age: 23-25 years old when taken by the Entity
Canon: Dead By Daylight
Series Info: (feel free to link a wiki) WARNING: Dead By Daylight features themes of violence, torture, despair, abuse, and almost every horrific horror theme/trope imagineable. Please be mindful when exploring the wiki for information.
Carmina Mora, the Artist
Canon Point: Some time well after being taken by the Entity, I imagine she's been through many trials at this point.
Character's path: Magic

Abilities

Character Abilities: Birds of Torment
Also:
- Able to see the Entity's influence outside of the realms (demonstrated in lore as her ability to see and interact with shadows that others cannot see)
- Able to commune with crows (unclear if strictly limited to the Entity's crows or if that extends to all crows)
Character Skills:
- Mixed media (but often paint) artist
- Includes the ability to tailor/sew fairly intricate gowns
- An incredible wellspring of emotional fortitude
- Since being turned into a killer she has in fact become unnaturally strong and has multiple body parts replaced with an inky substance she has control over and that does not behave according to the rules of gravity or sense (the ink can be morphed into weaponry, dire crows, or hands, and drips upwards off her body instead of falling down - the ink has replaced her tongue and hands primarily, but probably some of her insides as well if I had to guess)
- Charismatic and kind hearted, invested in social activism and healing the grief and pain of others through forcing others to confront that atrocities happen to good people that you know personally and you're not allowed to ignore that (I consider this a skill)

Approach

[Please answer all questions in one to two sentences minimum, one paragraph maximum. Note: This section is to get players thinking about what they will be doing with their characters in the world and is basically a light suitability screening.]

What interests you most about playing this character in this game?
Carmina is one of the handful of DBD killer characters who was driven to violence against her will and did not inherently enjoy it. I think this style of game and setting allows her to have an interesting arc of struggling with her trauma from both before and after the Entity took her, while also trying to regain and reconnect with humanity after having been so fundamentally changed.

How do you see your character adjusting to/approaching the game world?
It will be a struggle for sure, but she would quickly start to seek ways to make art and fix injustices as she used to. There will be a great deal of struggling to connect with others, but not for lack of trying. Most of her focus would be interpersonal to start with - learning to be something other than hostile and hurting. Without the Entity driving her further into grief and insanity, she will want to heal by making connections and keeping busy in any way she can - sort of starting over, sort of trying again.

What do you see your character finding most interesting about the setting/game premise?
How harmonious everyone seems to be compared to her past experiences would be the most fascinating thing for her, I think. More than any mechanic or magic or technology, she would be drawn to the people - especially those who came from other worlds. She's seen survivors from all walks of lives she's never been able to imagine, to interact with them peacefully will excite her. Other than that she's just going to want to do quests for the sake of understanding and contributing. She might feel like it helps her prove herself, she might just want to see what life could be.

[ This video appears under the username "featheredfriend" . A deathly pale face and beady black eyes take up most of the feed as she adjusts the camera's position. When Carmina steps back, she smiles wide with satisfaction. She is tall, gangly, monstrous - her wrist stumps give way to flowing ink formed into a mockery of clawed hands, which she clasps in front of her as she makes a quiet chirrrr noise. She looks briefly uncertain, her smile faltering, but then raises her chin in determination and spreads her arms wide to show that she's wearing a beautiful gown.

It's a deep emerald green gown, form fitting (to her unusual form) and flattering. Embroidered abstractions of gold-threaded vines covered in blooming white flowers crawl up the sides and lead into a dramatic collar that is essentially a flower crown worn about her neck. On her brow is a copper crown made to look like interlocking antlers.

Carmina turns her hips one way, then the other, to show off the embroidery. She extends an arm to the side to show that the sleeves are long and flow down like wings. She holds her head high, letting the flowery collar show. The feed ends, with an option to replay the clip, apparently pre-recorded. Text appears below the video as the first response, also by "featheredfriend". ]

To celebrate my freedom. To replace my tattered red gown. Enough bloodshed - now, the magic of renewal. Forgive my odd tone, was once better with words. Poetry. Have not been able to speak, or be spoken to, in too long.

How do others express their arrival here? Is it celebration for you, too?

Anything else?

I plan on playing her as unable to speak words - she makes unnatural, messed up bird noises mostly in game, and I think that her inability to express clearly what she means is very important to who she is now! She may write, draw, or type to communicate at times, but in person she would be squawkin.

I also have a full no questions asked opt out post available because she definitely deals with heavy themes, it will be linked in a stickied post at the top of her journal.
